Our dance TEAM is a group of dedicated, dynamic and versatile young people who enjoy and love the art form of DANCE. Members of the TEAM take the required number of dance classes for their assigned company each week thus building strong dance technique. At the weekly TEAM rehearsals new choreography is taught that includes, jazz, lyrical, Broadway, musical theater, ballet and tap. These routines are rehearsed and performed in the annual studio show, recitals and specialappearances throughout the year.
The mission of the dance TEAM is to have each member…
- Fully develop their dance techniques & abilities
- Acquire the sense of dance and performing ability
- Provide participation in many dance/theatrical programs
- Gain confidence & valuable experience while working with professional performers and choreographers
AUDITIONS
Dancers between the ages of 6-18 with previous dance experience are welcome to audition for our dance TEAM. Dancers will be viewed during the week long in-class auditions. During the in-class audition week, dancers will sign in at the beginning of each class (just like at a formal audition), selecting: 1) If they are interested in auditioning 2) what category they would like to be considered for (Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Solo, Duet, Trio, ect). *There is no guarantee dancers will be selected for TEAM or desired category.
Placement on TEAM is based on the following criteria: technique, potential, commitment level, enthusiasm, attitude and behavior in class, attendance, and stage presence. The director and staff place students together in groups that they feel will work the best together in rehearsal and performance according to age and ability. Previous years, performance, class attendance and attitude DO reflect placement levels. This placement should not be challenged as the director and faculty place students where they think they will perform best for themselves and for the company.
Da
ncers who are selected for the dance TEAM are required to:
-
- Sign a one-year DANCER CONTRACT detailing policies, procedures and commitments

- Attend company and rehearsal classes during the 9-month dance year
- Attend additional required technique classes
- Attend additional meetings and performance

ABSENCES / TARDINES
Absences from required classes:
Absences must be made up in a timely manner in an appropriate class. 3 absences or more with no make-up may result in removal.
Absences from scheduled rehearsals:
Due to the amount of choreography taught during each rehearsal and the importance of each and every rehearsal, dancers who are unable to attend a rehearsal may be removed from the piece. If a dancer will be absent from rehearsal for any reason they are expected to contact the director a minimum of 1 month ahead of time.
TUITIONTimeliness to class, rehearsal, and/or performance:
Dancers are expected to arrive early in order to warm up and be ready to dance at the scheduled start time of any class, rehearsal, or performance. Repeated tardiness to class, rehearsal, or performance may result in removal from the company.
Because we understand that you are already paying for the class requirements for regular class tuition we are trying to keep costs at a minimum. An additional 55.00- 85.00 will be added to the dancers tuition to cover studio rental and choreography. This does not include costume and competition fees. Tuition fee is subject to change.
